Joseph L. Miklich
Mr. Miklich has over 30 years experience in key leadership positions in the acquisition, planning, financing, management, sales and development of real estate, including specializing in the senior living industry.
Mr. Miklich joined Sunrise Senior Living in 1994 at the time when Sunrise was going public to raise equity needed for expansion. He was instrumental in implementing a national roll-out strategy, site selection and acquisition of clusters of quality sites in major metropolitan area including Denver, St. Louis, Detroit, Kansas City, Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego. He was responsible for the site selection, preliminary conceptual planning, financial feasibility and approval of over 60 Sunrise communities, which were developed from the ground up.
Prior to Sunrise, Mr. Miklich served as Senior Real Estate Manager for the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), where he was responsible for the sale of portfolios of land and other real estate aggregating over $500,000,000. Before that, he was a national audit manager for Ernst & Young.
Mr. Miklich received his B.S. degree (major in accounting and economics) from Queens College and is a candidate for a M.S. degree (major in management) from Baruch College. He is a CPA.
